About Us

This project has been something I have been wanting to do for many years and the ideas I have had for it have just grown and grown, however initially I am starting it simply.

I have been concerned about the way fruit and vegetables have been grown for many years now and this was compounded in 2019.  Whilst walking my dog, Flo, along the side of a local farmer's field, I came across a tree blocking the path, which caused me to venture into the field.  It was summer, I had shorts on and the wheat was high. Although I only walked through the crop for a matter of seconds, my legs felt like they were on fire....the farmer must have sprayed the field in the last few days. Alarmed I sprinted home, jumped in the shower, then had a salt bath, to endeavour to detox my body. I had a strange taste in my mouth, I did some oil pulling to try and get rid of whatever had gone into my body through my skin.  Then my right leg started swelling and this continued to swell and go down, swell and go down for the next few months.

I telephoned the government department that deals with farming and asked whether they could tell me what my local farmer may have sprayed on his field, as I was concerned for any long term health problems and they said that they don’t monitor, only advise what gets sprayed, therefore couldn’t tell me what was sprayed or what the long term effects could potentially be.

It really brought home to me, what really I already knew, that the chemicals that are used in fertilisers and sprays, that go on and in our food chain are not good at all and cause many short term and long term health problems, not to mention the foods that are genetically modified , which we don’t know what the effects could be yet. The companies that create these chemicals are the same companies that provide the drugs to treat us at the other end! Unfortunately the majority of foods we find in our supermarkets are grown in this way and people are just not aware, unwittingly buying things that they feel are healthy when they could be creating long term health problems. I feel that in our area, in particular, the provision of healthy organic/unadulterated food, is extremely poor.

That’s why I want to start the community project which I am calling Feed Your Soul. I have many ideas for this community project, the project will literally be growing organically by helping the community to live and healthier sustainable life in many other ways…so watch this space!
